2/18 BN AIF ASSOCIATION
NEWSLETTER . . . No. 1
INAUGURAL GENERAL MEETING
The first General Meeting of the Association was held at 21 Macquarie
Place Sydney on Monday 29 Apr ’46.

Present |
Approximately 126 personnel were present and it
was most encouraging to see so many who travelled long distances
to attend and thus give our Association the start it deserves.

Formation |
Mr. W. E. FRASER briefly outlined the work done by
the pro-tem Committee which had been formed on 15 Feb ’46 and
had met regularly up to the time of the General Meeting.

Gift from
2/18 Bn Comforts
Fund |
A sum of ₤220 was presented to the Association by
the 2/18 Bn Comforts Fund AIF, this being the Bank Balance at
the time of their final Meeting. This is a grand effort and we
have extended to them our very many thanks.

Constitution |
The Constitution of the Association as drafted by
the Committee was accepted at the General Meeting and copies of
this may be obtained from the Hon Sec on application.

Meetings |
General Meetings will be held three times per
year. One in April will be the Annual General Meeting and the
other two at times most suitable for country members for the
purpose of getting together and having a “B & B” ([Beer?] and
Biscuits). |
